May 24 Tornado Damage - Update #2
Update #2 - 8 a.m. - May 25, 2011
As of 8 a.m., WFEC crews are working on restoring power to the Cashion substation. Efforts are being focused in this area, with plans to have this site restored for service by mid-morning to noon. The Canna substation, located in the Concho and Calumet area, has been completely destroyed. Service to the Hinton substation was restored during the early morning hours on Wednesday.
A total of 45 structures are confirmed down at this time. The downed structures are widespread across the state, within the service territories of several distribution cooperatives served by WFEC. Among these affected areas are Washita, Hyro, Cashion, Mooreland, Taloga, Anadarko, Blanchard and Lindsay. There are likely more structures down in the Hinton area, however, damage is still being assessed across the WFEC service territory.
