May 24 Tornado Damage - Update #3

The Cashion substation was energized shortly after midnight on Thursday morning. This was the final substation to be re-energized, other than the Cana substation that was completely destroyed.

As of this time, 78 structures have been reported downed across eight counties in the WFEC service territory. These tranmission structures are located on 11 different lines.  Twenty-one of these structures have been replaced as of this morning.

As of 8 a.m., WFEC crews are working on restoring power to the Cashion substation. Efforts are being focused in this area, with plans to have this site restored for service by mid-morning to noon. The Canna substation,  located in the Concho and Calumet area, has been completely destroyed. Service to the Hinton substation was restored during the early morning hours on Wednesday.

Update #1: 9:30 p.m. - May 24

As of this time, three substations remain without service in the WFEC service territory. These include Hinton, Cashion and Canna. Transmission lines and structures are down in the vicinity of these substations. The Canna substation, which was just recently put into service in the Concho & Calumet area, was completely destroyed in the storm passing through the area on Tuesday afternoon.
