Touchstone Energy Cooperatives recently hosted a special Earth Day field trip for third through six grade age students at the Chickasha Fairgrounds in Chickasha, Oklahoma. More than two thousand students, teachers and parents attended event held April 25th and 26th. Vendors representing from energy related sectors and other earth friendly areas presented clean energy demonstrations and information to the children. The kids were each given green Earth Day backpacks and had the opportunity to have their photo with Touchstone Energy's CFL Charlie. Outdoor activities included a recycle relay race, an electric bucket truck demonstration, as well as ambulance and fire truck safety demonstractions.

This folder continas photos from a recent electric plant opening. Lea County Electric Cooperative, one of WFEC's 23 member co-ops, dedicated its new gas-fired electric plant. The ribbon cutting and ceremony was held on the plant grounds outside Lovington, New Mexico. The plant consists of five (5) units, each capable of producing just over nine megawatts (MW) of electricity.
