At WFEC, we have a challenging directive: Keep the Lights On. Our primary goal is to make sure electricity is always available to our distribution cooperative members. Whether the power comes from WFEC generation or power purchases, we strive to meet all our members’ electric needs.

We build and maintain an electric generation and transmission system that delivers electricity to our members’ distribution systems, which then carry it to individual homes and businesses. When service is interrupted by storms, floods, or mechanical issues, we immediately deploy the necessary resources to restore power as quickly as possible.

We emphasize skill development through apprentice training programs in power line transmission, substation areas, and generation maintenance.

We support our employees' knowledge development with online college credit and degree programs related to power plant operations and transmission careers. Professional accreditation programs and continuous learning are crucial for keeping our employees current. We also offer an educational reimbursement program to support continuing adult college and technical education.
